As I indicated in last week's blog about starting a publicity campaign I decided to take the step. The four month campaign, ending in November, will focus on the Wilmington, Charlotte, and Atlanta markets. The plan will involve a radio campaign and a publicity campaign.
Select radio programs of literary shows, talk shows, and programs interested in human interest topics will be contacted. The publicity campaign will contact local radio, television, print contacts and events at bookstores, libraries, etc.
The publicist, who I have researched, is one Hawkins Publishing Group recommended and has extensive experience in working with authors. I have spoken with him a few times and feel as though he will be the right fit.
I expect the campaign the start sometime next week. Future blogs will detail this four month journey.
