"Patch of Dirt:" Multiple Points of View

I just finished my short novel called “The River,” a story of tormented love between cousins and a German farmer. It takes place in 1926 and is written in third person past tense.

There are eight characters in it. The problem I was faced with was how was I going to present their different POVs without confusing the reader? -- I gave each character their own alternating chapter(s), which not only solved the problem but allowed me to show some scenes from a different character’s POV.
